Meme changer de programme au bout de 2h...
A peine arrives a Delhi apres les arnaques classiques avec les taxi, on apprend qu'un gros festival paralyse la ville et a fait gonfle le prix des hotels. Fatigues par le voyage et encore sous le choc culturel (on a beau s'y attendre, on n'y echappe pas), on fini par se laisser convaincre par le gars du "bureau public gouvernemental d'information touristique", que la meilleur solution est de partir directement pour Jaipur. Bref de lui acheter un tour...
Nous voila donc 24h apres notre depart de Paris, a Jaipur, au Rajasthan.
Jaipur, connue comme les portes du desert (a 700km tout de meme) est magnifique et tres animee:

Just arrived in Delhi, after the classical scam of taxis, we understand that a big festival paralyse Delhi and all prices increased. Tired and still confused by the cultural change (although we were prepared, noone can avoid it), we finally accepted the offer of the guy from the public and gouvernamental agency for tourists who tells us that the best solution is to go straight to Jaipur. Buying a tour really...
So we arrived in Jaipur, Rajasthan, 24h after departure from Paris.
Jaipur, know as the desert gate (actually 700km away), is amazing and vibrating:
Amber fort (fort de l'ambre)
Wind palace (palais des vents)
City palace (palais du Maharadja)
Apres Jaipur, nous filons a Agra (Uttar Pradesh) voir le fameux Taj Mahal.After Jaipur, we rushed to Agra (Uttar Pradesh) to see the famous Taj Mahal.
Taj MahalIt's stereotype to say the view is magical but there is no better way to describe it.
rue des hauteurs d'Agra Depart precipite d'Agra (probleme de billets de train) en direction de Jhansi ou un chauffeur nous attend pour nous conduire a Khajuraho, petite ville perdue dans le nord du Madhya Pradesh. Ici sont eriges une vingtaine de temples indhouistes finements sculptes par les chandelas en l'honneur entre autre de Vishnu et Shiva. Ces temples sont aussi connus pour leurs sculptures erotiques: les fameux temples du Kamasutra.
We rushed out of Agra (due to a problem with train tickets) to Jhansi where a driver waits for us to bring us to Khajuraho, small city lost in the nothern part of Madhya Pradesh. 20 temples or so arrise from the ground with fine indhouist sculptures that were carved by the Chandelas to worship deites such as Vishnu and Shiva. These temples are also very well known for their erotic sculptures: the famous Kamasutra temples.
On profite de la petite taille de la ville pour se balader sans etre trop pris pour des tirelires et discuter avec les enfants de la vieille ville.
The small size of the city allowed us to walk around the streets without feeling like cash machines and have a chat with the kids of the old town.
Petit cours de geologie avec les enfants de Khajuraho Sauf changement de programme, nous partons pour Satna ou nous devons prendre un train de nuit pour Varanasi. Nous y reprendrons notre route libres du tour qui nous a permis de voir les lieux que l'on voulait decouvrir mais pas toujours de la maniere que l'on prevoyait.
If everything goes according to the plan, we should go to Satna in a few hours to catch a train for the night to Varanasi. We will then be free of the tour which allowed us to discover the places we wanted to see but not necessarily our way.
